The ref. 116508 arrived at Baselworld in 2016 in 18k yellow gold, the first Daytona with a green dial. It was met with a quiet response until 2019, when John Mayer called it a "sleeper hit" on Hodinkee's Talking Watches, and it was soon selling out. With its green sunburst dial, yellow gold case and red Daytona script, it became a modern collector favourite, part of a design lineage that has stayed recognisable for more than 60 years, from early references like the 6239 to today's Daytona.
